AmericaXMermaid Reader Part 8

After that fun day at the park with Arthur and Alfred, you started hanging out with Arthur more and more.  But lately you were hanging out with Arthur alone, which was kind of weird, but you really didn't think much of it because, well, Arthur was your friend and he made you laugh.

Today you were hanging out at a little café.  You sat across from Arthur sipping your tea.  You looked up at Arthur.  Arthur's face was red and he was twiddling his thumbs.  You put your tea down and knelt down by Arthur.

"Hey, your face is all red.  I don't think it's supposed to be that color.  Are you alright?"  You asked as you put your hand on his forehead.  
"Y-Yes, I'm f-fine!" Arthur stuttered as his face became ten shades darker.

"Alright" you said as you got up and sat back down in your chair.  You looked down at your watch.  It was time to meet Alfred at Mc Donald's.

"I have to go meet Alfred.  Talk to you soon?" you asked as you stood up.  Arthur simply nodded pathetically.  

"Good!" You said happily as you walked off to meet your silly boyfriend.


You walked into the Mc Donald's.  Before you could look around the room, you were picked up and twirled by your extremely strong boyfriend.  After he finished twirling you, Alfred gave you a big kiss.  You giggled.

"Hi Alfred" you said happily.

"Hi!!" Alfred responded in his loud, happy voice.

"Are you ready?" you asked.

"Yeah" he responded as he grabbed your hand.

Today Alfred promised to take you back to your spring to go swimming.  You were so excited.  You practically dragged Alfred to his car.  The hike to the spring wasn't too bad.  Once you reached the spring you dived head first into the fresh cool water.  As soon as your skin touched the water, your feet merged together to form your beautiful tail.  You swam to the very bottom of the spring and started picking up some of the soft smooth rocks that lay at the bottom of the spring.  Once you got a handful of the rocks you swam back up to the surface.  You looked over at Alfred.  He was taking off his shirt and getting ready to jump in with you.  After Alfred's shirt was off he leaped into the pool making a big splash.

You and Alfred swam and splashed for a while.  When you guys got tired you tread water while Alfred sat on a rock in the water.

"Hey, Alfred?" you asked nervously.

"Mmm?"

"Does me being a mermaid... bother you?" you asked nervously.

"No, of course not!" Alfred said surprised.   "Why do you ask?"

"Well, I just thought that maybe you would be happier with a human" you said sadly.

Alfred swam over to you.

"I wouldn't be happy with anyone but you" he said as he gave you a kiss.

That was when you knew that you truly loved Alfred
